Who We Are
With our bold approach to advocacy, our litigation attorneys help clients resolve multi-million dollar lawsuits. Virginia Lawyers Weekly ranked one of our jury verdicts as the second largest in Virginia for 2017. Our business lawyers help clients achieve efficient growth strategies in mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, and intellectual property management.
We only take on business matters in order to provide our clients with specific and relevant experience. Because we are not a general practice firm, we excel in providing excellent and tailored representation to our business clients. Our business attorneys frequently negotiate complex business transactions with national and international businesses, including negotiating with Fortune 100 companies. Our litigation lawyers handle commercial lawsuits against the largest law firms in the country.
Local Trial Experience
Our litigation attorneys have trial experience litigating jury and bench trials in state and federal courts around the country. We have extensive local experience litigating in the the Eastern District of Virginia, often referred to as the “rocket docket.” We also frequently handle matters in the trial courts located in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake and the surrounding areas of Hampton Roads. On occasion, we also handle matters in Northern Virginia, Richmond and the Western parts of Virginia.
We maintain close strategic alliances with three hand-selected law firms in Norfolk, Virginia, Chesapeake, Virginia and McClean, Virginia, to provide additional legal services, such as patents, business tax planning, complex employment and HR compliance and real property law.
Most business and litigation attorneys charge for their time in six-minute increments. Call us crazy, but we don’t think it’s right to bill clients six minutes for a two-minute phone call. Instead, we bill in real-time, single-minute increments. Over the course of a lawsuit or lengthy contract negotiation, this small practice often saves our clients money and helps build their trust.
We are obsessed with security. All electronic client data is stored locally and in the cloud using 128 bit bank-level encryption as recommended by industry leader NIST. We keep physical client files in locking file cabinets and maintain multiple on and off-site real-time encrypted backups of all client information. Our extensive background in Internet security allows us to take a cutting-edge approach to data security.
